Mod Review : WORKS Exhaust pt 1.
The next step in my modification process is the exhaust. I decided on the WORKS axle-back piece. Its a nice an simple installation without any chance of messing up smog test capability. I recently put together some of the footage from my visit to WORKS, and while I haven’t completely compiled the installation video, I do have video of the aftermath, and an Ape Factor rating. I know this is what most you guys are looking for, so enjoy. Follow the jump for more on this product.
So after I finished the installation of the exhaust it was time to take the car for a run. I have video of this, but keep in mind that the audio i got doesn’t exactly replicate the great sound that this exhaust puts out. At low revs it does have a slight 4 cylinder rasp, but everything above 2800rpms is damn near exotic, backfires n’ all. But i’ve already said to much. i’ll save the rest of my observations for the formal product review. Here is the running footage of the WORKS exhaust in action.
The APE factor rating can be found below. The axle-back is not exactly a “must have part” like the ECU, when you stand back and look at the stats, but if you’re looking to maximize your output it definitely gives you a decent power gain with out much hassle. I will be pulling 0-60 and 60-80 times for benchmarks. If you’d like any other tests run, let me know. [CLICK IMAGE FOR LARGER PICTURE]

that you can. I’ll be getting up the complete reviews for both air filter and exhaust as soon as WORKS gets me the dyno sheets. They’ve been really busy, so there has been a lag on the delivery of the data I need to write my review and finish my videos.

That’s pretty nice and I really like the sound, but is there going to be any legal problems as far as not having a muffler goes?

Well i’ve been driving it around california with no problems, but I dont really floor it everywhere I go. It should pass smog and as long as you dont floor it through urban areas, where the sound may echo, I think you should be fine. Also, remember if you have a 2.0L its alot quieter

Is there the same gain for the 2.0 as is on the 2.4

I do believe the gain is about the same.
